This volume is devoted to alegrías, "a festive style of song and dance, originally from Cádiz. They are distinctive due to their light rhythm and their interpretation, which is full of self-assurance, with arm movements, swaying and dynamic movements that ooze gracefulness. It is customary to intersperse variations of different music that follows the same meter between verses, so that the rhythm becomes increasingly lilting, which allows the bailaor to enjoy the guitar falsetas (melodic phrases interspersed between successions of chords)".
