The "Baila conmigo" series is an idea of Dolores Giménez, dancer and president of the Asociación Cultural Flamenca Carmen Amaya (Carmen Amaya Flamenco Cultural Association), founded in 1995. Her 32 years experience as an artist and 20 as a dance instructor has led her to release these CDs that teach the four basic flamenco styles (Alegrías, Soleá, Tangos y Fandangos) for beginners in flamenco taking them up to professional level.
Very useful for dance academies and dance enthusiasts in general.
The dance structure is traditional, like any danced in a “tablao”, with the usual staging.
Dance theory is explained in the booklet and the CD includes complete pieces that are divided into fragments.
The whole dance is performed in two parts: With and without footwork. There are also acoustic warnings telling the student where each part begins .
The music has been mixed to maximise dance instruction, by increasing the volume of the guitar and especially the handclapping it is easier to follow the rhythm and to hear the student’s footwork.
Song: Raúl Jiménez
