It took her six years to release this album, but it was worth the wait. It was considered one of the best flamenco albums of the year, in fact it was nominated for the 2001 Latin Grammy award in its category. It didn´t win, but no one doubts that at present, Mayte has one of the best equipped voices, which interprets a sad bolero, bulerías or tangos with the same absolute perfection. Her voice rises above the guitars and an occasional violin. Her style remains within the purest contemporary orthodoxy.

¡Mayte , Mayte !
Lástima que se prodigue tan poco en discos. La he oido en directo y es de lo mejorcito. Con el tiempo estará considerada como una de las más grandes, porque esa voz y su manera de cantar lo merecen. ¡Siempre estaré rendido a sus pies cante lo que cante !
