Second solo album by "Chicuelo", one of the best up-and-coming guitars of the flamenco scene and, at the same time, one of the most interesting composers of the last few generations.
This Catalan guitar player is joined on this album by Duquende and Miguel Poveda, among others and features 10 varied tracks. Fandangos, bulerías, colimbiana, rumbas, tangos,… With musicians like the bass player Carles Benavent, the percussionist Isaac el Rubio and the trumpet player Raynald Colom.

Best flamenco album ever?
I have listened to this CD 70+ times already... Chicuelo has reserved a spot on the "Best Flamenco Guitarists" list! Every piece is amazing; Tomodachi has Arab music influences, making for a very Middle Eastern sound, A La Deriva is "jazzmenco"... a refreshing sound, my favorite on the album. Then comes Somorrostro, a truly "classic" Bulerias. The 4th tune is Crema Catalana, a Middle Eastern-sounding rumba... #5 is Diego, another "jazzmenco" song. #6 is Huelva, which is in my opinion the best Fandangos ever written. #7 is A Tres, a violin-guitar duet... a haunting, yet beautiful piece. The eighth piece is El Mirador, very similar to Gerardo Nunez tunes. #9 is a Columbianas that reeks of Baden Powell... finally, the last piece serves as a reminder that all good things must come to an end, with a slow granaina...
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this album to all flamenco and jazz lovers. It takes a few listens to truly appreciate it, but it's worth the investment.

Chicuelo Guitarrist of our time
Chicuelo is fast becomming one of the leading guitarrists on the Flamenco scene today. Although he has a remarkable technique, it serves rather than dominates his profound musical sensability. "Diapasion" is a great addition to his other brilliant recordings.
