Length: 120 minutes
Juana la del Revuelo sings alegrías, tangos, soleá, fandangos and bulerías. Accompanied by her husband and her son, the guitarist
Martín Chico, Juana talks of cantaora women, of flamenco families, of singing and bull-fighting, of foreigners and flamenco, and of
the singing that bestows all importance to the dancing that it accompanies. Mariana Cornejo speaks about her teacher, Perla de Cádiz. She also explains the cantes de ida y vuelta (styles deriving from the interaction between Spanish migrants and popular songs with Hispanic American folk music and customs, before returning to Spain and being influenced, in turn, by flamenco music) and other styles that have now become almost forgotten. She performs cantiñas, tientos, tangos, soleá por bulerías, rosa, colombiana, seguiriyas and bulerías. Extras: interactive menus, the palos (forms), and biographical information on the artists.
