The guitarist Juan Diego, who usually accompanies José Mercé, presented his debut album as a solo artist, entitled “Luminaria”, in 2003. The record, which enjoyed the backing of Moraíto Chico and José Mercé, features the contribution of Tomasito, Diego Carrasco, El Bola, Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent, Remedios Amaya and her daughter Samara, among other artists.

Delightful sophistication
This album is a collection of dreamy, passionate selections that easily transport the listener into the space Diego resides. The guitarist's command of the instrument is demonstrated in his graceful understatements of traditional flamenco progressions and fresh phrasing. I'm glad I risk the purchase.

ole Juan, ole!!!
Lo has conseguido sacar Juan, has conseguido que por delante de mis ojos pasen recuerdos, partes de mi vida, sensaciones...has logrado decírmelo. Ole Juan!!!
Como punto crítico y muy personal, te comentaré únicamente que por el momento no soy capaz de escuchar al cante y a la vez hacerlo coincidir con el toque voluntariamente. Hablo del tema 6, hay un punto en el que me pierdo por completo y me choca un poco.
Por todo lo demás, las composiciones son preciosas, y el toque para mi sigue teniendo la esencia y mucho más.
