A heart-felt reminiscence of the Alhambra (Granada), under the guidance of the singing of the Granadan Enrique Morente. It features ten unique themes in which he has enjoyed the cooperation of Tomatito, Juan Habichuela, Estrella Morente, Israel Galván and Blanca Li. Non-flamenco musicians like Ute Lemper, Pat Metheny and Cheb Khaled have also taken part.
Enrique Morente is also the producer of the record. In it, he has adapted poems drawn from many trends in Spanish literary tradition, like San Juan de la Cruz, María Zambrano, Miguel de Cervantes and Luis Cernuda. It was originally the soundtrack of a documentary that was based on the Alhambra, but little by little it became a record with a life of its own.

morente se niega a detener el paso hacia la gloria
Trabajo excepcional, íntegro y novedoso ala vez que rompedor. sólo alguien como Morente puede lograr todo esto a la vez. Impresionante la variedad y consistencia del disco. Destacaría la Carta de Cervantes, La fuente, y por supuesto el martinete, que allí queda como un monumento a ese palo flamenco. las participaciones de Estrella, incapaz de cantar algo que no sea puramente sublime, y del jazzista Pat Metheny son para escucharse mil veces, y cuando Metheny se acopla, es como para pensar que efectivamente estuvo allí, cosa que dudo.
