In between fiction and a documentary, the Algerian director presents us with the tragedy of a family clan in which the music plays a fundamental role in the plot. The hero of the story is the dancer and choreographer Antonio Canales -Caco in the film- who, in this instance, doesn't dance. Caco is involved in a family feud because of a blood debt with another gypsy family, which wants to take revenge on him for a murder that his brother committed.
The film won the Special Prize of the Jury in the International Festival of Istambul, and its soundtrack won the Caesar's Prize in 2001.

vuelta a los origenes del flamenco
La pelicula acerca al espectador a los origenes del flamenco mas puro, reencontrandose con sus raices arabes y la esencial aportacion de la cultura gitana, un maravilla que transporta a amantes del flamenco a un sentimiento jamas desconocido de enriquecimiento musical y espiritual, en este marco de maga musical entra a la perfeccion la historia de las dos familias gitanas enfrentadas.
recomiendo verla mas de una vez para profundizar en la historia, en los personajes y en el flamenco

simplemente uso este pequeño espacio y mis humildes palabras para decir que muchos estamos vivos por el simple echo de respirar y eso no es estar vivo eso simplemente es estar muerto en vida que es peor que la propia muerte. El fervor y pasion con la que expresa en esta pelicual el sentimiento de odio, de amor es increible simplemente se me puso la piel de gallina lo senti muy propio.

Me considero amante del cine y del flamenco, por eso me atrevo a decir que Vengo es MARAVILLOSA. El duende no sólo está en el árbol, está dentro de cada uno de los que participa en esta obra de arte. Gracias a Tony Gatlif, a Antonio Canales y al magnífico grupo de artistas que colaboran en esta película por esos momentos, por escenas como la del teléfono celular, las fiestas, los momentos con Pepa, el hermosísimo sobrino de Caco, y sobre todo gracias por esa música. Antonio, lo que no bailaste, lo transformaste en un histrionismo bellísimo. Felicidades y no paren de trabajar juntos por favor!!!!!!!!!
