Fosforito (Puente Genil, Córdoba. 1932) sang since he was a child to survive and in 1956, in the Concurso de Cante Jondo de Córdoba (Córdoba Flamenco Competition), he finally became a firmly established artist. Here, he talks about all these things, about his appointment as the honorary director of the Department of Flamenco Studies in Jerez university and of the relationship between flamenco and literature. He sings soleá pola, tientos, tangos, tarantos and cantiñas. El Pelé (1954), another artist from Córdoba, won the soleares and bulerías awards in the Concurso Nacional de Córdoba (National Competition in Córdoba) in 1983. In the video, it is possible to appreciate his talent in these palos (forms). Furthermore, he talks about the evolution of flamenco and of trends within it, of the role played by peñas (flamenco enthusiasts clubs) and of the importance of silences when singing.
