An outline of the current situation, and that of the recent past, on the flamenco scene. Its contents range from simple fandangos de Lucena and verdiales, performed by Fosforito, to the complexity of Luis de Córdoba's cartageneras. From the basic tango, to the rumba that reached its highest level of popularity thanks to Camarón and Paco de Lucía, updated by Duquende. From El Lebrijano's classical soleá to the intricacy of Manolo Sanlúcar. From the romera by Carmen Linares with a refrain sung in chorus, to a song in a bulerías style by Marina Heredia. And we mustn't forget about those two great masters of the 20th century: the tragic solemnity of Antonio Mairena in a seguiriyas style, and Manolo Caracol's intense sense of freedom. This collection also includes a constant aspect of flamenco: the cross-breeding of a living art form, which is expressed by Tomatito, and his rendition of a song by the Turkish musician Erkan Ogur.
