An indispensable collection to learn, get to know and enjoy flamenco guitar playing, singing and dancing. A didactic description of the different palos (forms), the off-beat, palm clapping, measure, types of accompaniment, the speed of every dance... It is ideal for academies and for anyone who wants to study flamenco in their own house. It has 23 didactic volumes: 13 are normal and 10 are double; all of them are introduced by the bailaora (flamenco dancer) Cristina Hoyos.
This volume is devoted to the soleá, "one of the basic styles of flamenco, which allows women to use typically feminine movements, such as those using the arms, undulating movements and swaying waist movements; it also allows men to display their elegance and virility. The soleá is one of the pillars of autonomous flamenco, and does not depend on any others. Its name comes from 'soledad' (solitude) and this is what its performer expresses with sad and emotional movements: pain and tragedy. A great variety exists within this palo, depending on the place from where it comes".
