An indispensable collection to learn, get to know and enjoy flamenco guitar playing, singing and dancing. A didactic description of the different palos (forms), the off-beat, palm clapping, measure, types of accompaniment, the speed of every dance... It is ideal for academies and for anyone who wants to study flamenco in their own house. It has 23 didactic volumes: 13 are normal and 10 are double; all of them are introduced by the bailaora (flamenco dancer) Cristina Hoyos.
This volume is devoted to the garrotín and tangos from Málaga. The garrotín "is a gypsy dance of non-Andalusian origins, that started becoming 'aflamencado' (lit. flamencoised; that is, experienced changes as a result of the influence of flamenco) at the start of the 20th century. It has a catchy, lively and amusing melody, and the singing is of a festive kind, with a tango rhythm, that women tend to dance with self-assurance, air, shoulder and hip movements, and some extremely tasty desplantes (series of hard stepping movements that end, or climax, a series of steps)".
