Footage from the Nuevo Apollo Theatre Madrid (Spain).
"Sabores" is a series of flamenco images which combine art, emotions, colours and especially the flavour of good flamenco.
For an hour and a half "Sabores" brushes the limits of the rhythm and melodies of the different “palos” and styles that make up the range of flavours offered by flamenco and fuse into colourful dance. You can savour tangos, seguiriya, zambra, alegrías, taranto, martinete, tanguillos, jaleos and bulerías…
The dance is made up by ten dancers for the different images. All of which are choreographed and directed by Sara Baras.
Sara Baras also counts on two guest stars, two dancers with an amazing stage presence José Serrano and Luis Ortega, who not only dance in the production with the group but shine on their own in extraordinary solos.
The music, composed specially for the show , is performed live by six musicians (two guitars, two singers, violin and percussion) directed by José María Bandera.
The choreography is simple and focuses on the colours.
The wardrobe is representative of modern flamenco, emphasizing the simple formality of the dancers’ dress and colours which vary depending of the significance of each palo.
