This first volume of the legendary series "Rito y Geografía del Cante" contains the following four chapters:

CAMARÓN
When this programme was shot Camarón, who was only 23 years old at the time, was embarking upon his extraordinary professional career. We will be able to enjoy his singing in a recording studio in Madrid, with Paco Cepero on guitar. The cantaor from the Cádiz province talks about the impression that his success is having upon him, and, now in his house on the Island of San Fernando, he invites us to an 'impromptu' party in which he is surrounded by relatives and friends.

THE SERRANÍA (the mountain range)
This programme encompasses a variety of styles that share certain musical connections that are drawn from the geographical context in which their origins lie. The caña, liviana or serrana, sung by the voices of great cantaores like Pepe de la Matrona or Antonio Mairena, alongside others who were just starting to stand out, like José Menese or Enrique Morente.

THE TONÁS
Tonás, carceleras, martinetes… The earliest flamenco cantes (styles) display the mixture of different musical genres that were a contribution made by the different peoples and cultures that settled in the south of Spain throughout its history. Primitive cantes sung by the voices of great flamenco artists such as Juan Talega, Antonio Mairena, Tío Borrico, Manuel Agujeta, José Menese and Tía Anica la Piriñaca.

OLIVER DE TRIANA
Even though he never devoted himself to flamenco singing in a professional manner, Oliver de Triana, a man with great knowledge of the soleares de los alfareros, had the standing of an authentic master of flamenco singing, and his style has served as a frame of reference for later generations of cantaores. In this programme, Oliver provides a display of his artistry alongside friends and amateurs from the neighbourhood of Triana in Seville.

Specialists in the field consider the series "Rito y Geografía del Cante" the best series about flamenco ever, and it constitutes an audio-visual document of invaluable worth and significance. It is an exhaustive study concerning artists, styles, geographical and historical contexts that enjoyed the assistance and advisory work of the most prestigious flamencologists of the time.

The series has been re-released, with a careful restoration and re-mastering work, involving both the sound and images. This new edition is published in the format of a DVD-book: the DVD features over two hours of performances, interviews and reports; the book contains in-depth information about artists and flamenco styles.

The complete series is made up of twenty-four volumes, which can be purchased individually or in packs, each of which contains four volumes. Each volume contains four chapters of the original series and, thus, each case or pack contains 16 chapters of the original series.
