This recording offers a wide selection of the flamenco genres, interpreted using the three dimensions of this unique Andalusian musical art form: singing (cante), guitar playing (toque) and dancing. Paco de Lucía's brother is in charge of the singing. On guitar, Paco, with his other brother Ramón de Algeciras as second guitar, and dancing, the Madrid bailaor (flamenco dancer), Raul. Remaining faithful to his principle of constant innovation, in this instance Paco de Lucía offers us a record in which the element of the zapateado (stepping movements with the toe,sole and heel of the foot that produce a rhythmic combination of sounds) is integrated into the flamenco musical universe, insofar as recordings are concerned. The guitarist's commitment to add musical ingredients to the flamenco discourse led him, as early as the year 1971, to include the sound of the bailaor's feet as a further instrument in his music.
