"Tiempo Muerto" is one of the best flamenco soundtracks of the last few years.
"Tiempo Muerto" is the latest show by Rafael Amargo, and is a return to form and to his essential vision of flamenco that opens a new stage in his career.
He defines the show as “a stop in the search for the definitive Rafael'', where he sketches a “naked” universe that distances itself from complex wardrobes, audiovisuals and choreographies, focussing on the music.
To do this he has used the work of Juan Parrilla, heir to the tradition of deep roots and a composer and performer for the most important flamenco artists, and of Flavio Rodrigues, Rafael Amargo’s guitar player for years and the musical director of his other shows “Enramblao” and “DQ…Pasajero en Tránsito”.
The lyrics of "Tiempo Muerto" have been written by Rafael Amargo.
"Tiempo Muerto" was recorded at the Teatro Alcázar during the season it was playing in Madrid and has the warmth of a live performance.
"Tiempo Muerto" covers roots flamenco to the most current form. The CD features tangos, alegrías, a fandango de Granada, a soleá and even a Zambra tribute to Lola Flores. Musically directed by the composers and the with collaboration of an exceptional group of musicians (among which, as well as vocals, guitar and box-drum there are piano players, flute and percussion).
