According to many people, the soundtrack was the best thing about the film starring Joaquín Cortés. In spite of the title, neither all the artists are gypsy, nor do all gypsies play flamenco. This soundtrack includes a bit of everything. Enrique Morente, Antonio Flores, Montse Cortés, Tomatito, José el Francés, Azúcar Moreno, Alba Molina... Antonio Carmona (Ketama) was responsible for the excellent selection of flamenco-pop fusion songs that are collected in this double CD. The writer Arturo Perez Reverte cooperated with Abigail in the composition of the main theme song of the film.
