This is the first work that is entirely personal by Juan Gómez, 'Chicuelo', one of the most prominent guitarists on the flamenco scene at present, at the same time as he is also one of the most interesting composers from the latest generarations. This CD includes eight themes that have been composed and played by Chicuelo himself, each of which, in its own way and with its distinctive rhythm, reflect his feelings, his moments of solitude and friendships. His moments of solitude are shared with his ever-present favourite partner, the guitar, although there are many more friendships that also enrich his artistic work. The intimacy of these friendships makes it possible for a vibrant, intense and lively sound to surface as a result of the interaction of the guitar with the cajón (box-drum), the hand-clapping or, for example, the violin and saxophone. It is a sound that gives off sparks when it is captured alongside exceptional voices like those of Duquende and Miguel Poveda.
