Multi-zone DVD, suitable for use in any country (NTSC and PAL).
Language: Spanish, English and Japanese.
In 1997, the bailaor (flamenco dancer), dancer and choreographer Adrián Galia directed the audio-visual encyclopaedia 'Paso a paso. Los palos del flamenco', which is made up of 21 volumes that have now been re-edited in DVD format. The first eighteen volumes include analyses and detailed explanations of the meter, the dance, the singing and the guitar playing for each of the flamenco palos (forms), whereas the last three review everything that has been analysed previously.
This collection also provides information about the origins and history of each form, including references about their costumes and other interesting information. The explanations in each volume are rounded off by a performance by Adrián Galia himself, accompanied by his artistic team.

Very complementary with yr local lesson
I ve checked other flamenco teaching DVDs and This Adrian's series is very nicely detailed nd helpful. The beging of DVD, a bit narcisic Adrain's images repeat, but not too much, ;-)
Basically this DVD is for advanced beginers nd middle level people, I guess.
In this DVD always they explain History nd Compas etc. It is not complete nd Deep but help lots for understanding.
Some DVDs of this series are not containing much lessons (only 30Mins or some less) nd you could not feel you learned much things form one DVD.
Why? Because Acctually It totally depends on the style of flamenco, ex: Sevillanas could be useful but solea not or something, upto your interest nd dancing skill etc.
However, it's true that if you are taking local lesson with yr real teacher, this virtual lesson video ll help to correct many details.
So, I recommend to choose & take some DVDs or all series, not only one.

vol one
She dances well. Being a total beginner of flamenco, I need someone to break down the hand movements and steps, in order for me to understand and practice. Apparently she just domonstrate the hand and steps without explanation. I dont have enough back ground to appreciate it. What a shame, I was looking foward to learn flamenco in dvd like I learn belly dance which they explained everything in details.
