Mario Suárez has just crossed the forty-year barrier and in spite of a well-deserved reputation as a professional in the world of performing arts, he is experiencing a crisis. His wife Laura has abandoned him; he is in a deep depression.

Mario seeks refuge in his work, preparing the rehearsals for a film about tango that he will direct himself.

It is a musical film in which Saura runs through different choreographies and dances, which feature the best Argentinian professionals, including the famous dancer Julio Bocca.
