This is a further step taken by the Andalusian Consejeria de Cultura (Culture Council) in the retrieval of flamenco as a part of Andalusia’s musical heritage. It features a total of 258 songs recorded by Pastora Pavon Cruz, La Niña de los Peines, between 1910 and 1950 on slate records. It also includes an interactive DVD on the legendary cantaora’s (female flamenco singer) artistry and times. This compilation is the most ambitious project undertaken to date by the Centro Andaluz de Flamenco (Andalusian Flamenco Centre).
