Esperado sexto álbum en solitario de Vicente Amigo. El guitarista cordobés nos ofrece un disco abierto, rítmico, flamenco de alto grado con un especial cuidado por la melodía. Nueve nuevas composiciones que, según palabras del propio Vicente, "desarrollo de otra manera, como un reto de cantar con la guitarra y con armonías que creo que son interesantes”.
“Es un disco de colaboraciones”, continúa Vicente Amigo. Y es que en "Paseo de Gracia" la guitarra de Amigo está acompañada por artistas de la talla de Enrique y Estrella Morente, Niña Pastori, Alejandro Sanz, Rafael de Utrera, Pedro Heredia, Miguel Ortega, José Parra, Lin y Nani Cortés, que aportan sus voces, su sabiduría y su jondura. Y arropando con mimo las falsetas de Vicente Amigo, músicos de postín del calibre de Tino di Geraldo (batería y percusión), Antonio Ramos “Maca” (bajo), Alexis Lefêvre (violín) y Paquito González (percusión) para completar un reparto de auténtico lujo.

 Disappointing
After the excellent "Un Momento En El Sonido", which was a brilliantly tasteful combination of tradition and innovation, "Paseo de Gracia" is not a worthy successor. After I listened to the album for the first time, I proclaimed that it was Vicente's best. Then, I realized that most of the tracks were cleverly disguised rumbas... there are some other palos, such as bulerias and tangos, but all the tracks come off as extremely derivative, especially the one with Estrella Morente.
Vicente is one of the best guitarists out there, period -- "Paseo de Gracia" is not one of his best efforts. I read in a couple of interviews that Vicente wasn't wild about recording a "pop flamenco" record, and I can tell... the tunes on this album are, for the most part, lifeless. I sincerely hope he will return to what made his music so great -- a mix of flamenco tradition and new melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic ideas from outside the flamenco realm.
