The composer José María Fuertes has written some sevillanas for the rociero group Raya Real for the wedding union between Prince Felipe and Letizia Ortiz, that will be held on 22 May in Madrid.

The first sevillana talks about the long-awaited announcement of the Prince's wedding:

'Un compromiso anunciaron ('An engagement was announced)
desde la Casa Real (from the Royal Household)
y dijo el comunicado: ( and the statement said:)
Su Alteza se va a casar. (His Highness is getting married.)
La boda más esperada (The most eagerly awaited wedding)
por primavera será'. ( will be in the Spring'.)

In the chorus, the author of the lyrics and composer of the music highlights the "fairy-tale" element that characterises this union:

'Como en un cuento de hadas ( 'Like in a fairy-tale,)
llenos de magia y belleza ( full of magic and beauty,)
quiso el amor que una dama (love decided that a lady)
se convirtiera en princesa'. (would become a princess'.)

The second sevillana tells how, in the future, the journalist Letizia Ortiz will become the queen of Spain:

'El es Príncipe de España ('He is the Prince of Spain,)
Don Felipe de Borbón ( Don Felipe de Borbón,)
y ella Letizia se llama (and she is called Letizia,)
dicen quererse los dos. ( they both say they love each other.)
Dicen quererse los dos ( They say they love each other,)
y para ser soberana (and to be the sovereign)
de todo el pueblo español ( of the entire Spanish people,)
futura reina de España ( the future queen of Spain,)
el Príncipe la eligió'. (the Prince has chosen her'.)
(ESTRIBILLO) (CHORUS)

The author's lyrics also mention the day when the engagement was made public. This is how the third sevillana narrates the moment:

'Escrito estaba el destino: ('It was written in destiny:)
Felipe se enamoró ( Felipe fell in love,)
se le notaba en el brillo (you could notice the sparkle)
de los ojos y en su voz ( in his eyes and in his voice)
cuando miraba a Letizia (when he looked at Letizia)
y hablaba su corazón (and his heart spoke,)
diciendo que por España ( saying that they both)
iban a vivir los dos'. (would be living for Spain'.)
(ESTRIBILLO) (CHORUS)

In the fourth sevillana, the lyrics once again refer to the "fairy-tale" that Letizia Ortiz is living:

'Es como un cuento de hadas ( 'It's like a fairy-tale)
pero pasó de verdad ( but it happened in real life)
que al Príncipe que soñaba (that the Prince that she dreamt of)
Letizia llegó a encontrar; (Letizia came to find;)
quiso el destino que hallara (and fate decided she would find)
con él la felicidad' (happiness with him'.)
(ESTRIBILLO) (CHORUS)
